Inulin is known as a polysaccride, is a soluble fibre classed as a fructan. Fructan are indigestible by the body but is loved by the good bacteria in the gut. A daily intake of inulin promotes immune system function. This works by enhancing the bifidobacteria in the colon, inulin has been shown to inhibitharmful pathogens in the intestine that could otherwise hurt the gut.
